Saraswati Puja is celebrated with a lot of verve and enthusiasm in the various states of India. In the northern and eastern states it is a household affair, where as in the southern states this Indian festival is celebrated in the temples. Saraswati Puja is observed in the months of January-February according to the Gregorian calendar. This festival is popularly known as Shree Panchami as it is celebrated on the fifth day of the spring season on a full moon day.
